About Us
First Acoustics is a project of the First Unitarian Congregational Society in Brooklyn. Major concerts take place Saturday evenings in our majestic Gothic-revival sanctuary in Brooklyn Heights at the corner of Pierrepont Street and Monroe Place. Our more intimate concerts will take place in our McKinney Chapel, set up as a coffee house or jazz club. The chapel adjoins the sanctuary on Pierrepont Street between Monroe Place and Clinton Street.
Ticketing
Admission to our concerts is by ticket only. Tickets purchased in advance on this website or by phone will be mailed to you. However, seven days or less before the concert date, advance purchase tickets will be held at the door. If you purchase online within seven days of the performance date, please bring your PayPal receipt to claim your tickets at the door. There is a surcharge of $5.00 per ticket for tickets purchased at the door. First Acoustics reserves the right to revoke the license created by a ticket at any time for any reason by refunding the ticket price.
Accessability
The McKinney chapel is freely accessable, since the entrance is at sidewalk level. The sanctuary, however, is accessable only via outdoor steps. Also, the restrooms are located in the lower level of the building, which is also accessable only via stairs. If you have concerns about accessability, please call our Box Office at (718) 288-5994 and we will try to make special arrangements.
House Rules
We seek to maintain a "listening room" atmosphere for enjoyment of serious folk and jazz performances.
Please do not bring any food or beverages to the concert. Except for special events at which a pre-concert meal is served, beverages and snack items will be sold during intermission.
Photography and sound recording are not permitted during performances.
Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the Church building.
